ABSTRACT
Background: Learning is everyone's activity to achieve their dreams. Learning is closely related to the ability to concentrate. Concentration influences a person's learning success. Concentration is a process where the mind focuses on an object. The phenomenon of the students at STIKes Panti Rapih Yogyakarta is a 62.5% decrease in concentration. One factor that influences concentration is breakfast patterns. Several studies state that poor breakfast patterns cause problems with concentration.
Purpose: This research aims to determine the relationship between breakfast patterns and the level of learning concentration of STIKes Panti Rapih Yogyakarta students.
Methods: The research method is quantitative, analytic survey design with a cross-sectional study. Sample of 296 students using cluster random sampling. Data collection instruments used questionnaires and the Concentration Grid Test.
Result: The research showed that the description of the breakfast pattern was in the adequate category at 54.4%, and the poor category was 45.6%. Further, the level of learning concentration in the fair category was 45.3%, the moderate category was 18.6%, and the poor category was 36.1%. Based on the Spearman Rank test, there is no significant relationship between breakfast patterns and students' learning concentration levels, with a p-value of 0.393 > 0.05.
Conclusion: Even though statistically, there is no relationship between breakfast pattern and concentration significantly, the percentage analysis showed that an adequate breakfast pattern also improved the fair concentration level.
