Gambaran Self-Management Pada Pasien DM di Ruang Poliklinik Salah Satu Rumah Sakit Swasta di Yogyakarta
Abstract
Diabetes Mellitus is a metabolic disorder characterized by high blood sugar levels (hyperglycemia) with metabolic disorders, carbohydrates, fats, and proteins caused by damage to insulin products and suboptimal insulin function. The purpose of this study was to determine the picture of the sleep quality of DM patients at Panti Rapih Hospital, Yogyakarta. The design of this study used quantitative descriptive with a survey approach. The method used in this study was accidental sampling. The number of respondents in the study was 30 respondents using the PSQI questionnaire. The results of this study showed that most respondents had moderate self-management of 6.7%, and poor of 93.3% of the 30 respondents who had been studied. Based on this, it is better for health services to provide education to patients about the importance of good self-management, and it is hoped that DM patients can improve their self-management regarding the 7 pillars of DM self-care which include diet, physical activity, taking medication, monitoring blood sugar levels, problem solving, healthy coping mechanisms, and risk reduction.
