Pengaruh Terapi Genggam Jari Terhadap Penurunan Tekanan Darah Pada Lansia Hipertensi di Komunitas Lansia Gereja St. Maria Ratu Rosari Gianyar Bali
Abstract
Background: Hypertension is an important health problem in the elderly globally, including Indonesia. Hypertension strategies for old people and their sensitivities to medications. Therapies that do not involve medication, such as finger grip therapy, are an appealing alternative due to their simplicity, non-invasiveness, and ability to be done without the need for a therapist. In the aging population of Sta. Maria Ratu Rosari Church, hypertension is a common health problem.
Objectives: This study explores the impact of a finger grip therapy intervention on the reduction of hypertension in this community of older adults.
Methods: We conducted a quasi-experimental study based on a pre-intervention and post-intervention approach. We used the population of elderly hypertensive patients actively enrolled in Sta. Communities of Maria Ratu Rosari Church, which are sampled using the purposive sampling technique. FiShRI provided regular finger grip therapy for a defined duration. Blood pressure data was obtained before and after the intervention to determine its effects. The Wilcoxon test was applied for analysis.
Results: There are differences in mean blood pressure before and after intervention (systolic p-value = 0.01; diastolic p-value = 0.22) Data presage to October 2023; Inner; Results: 55 older hypertensive users were enrolled; systolic BP declined from 78.0 to 074.5 mmHg in the gesture therapy team; diastolic BP did not substantially sky; BP exponent: − 0068241; 0097838.
Conclusions : Finger grip therapy showed a decrease in systolic blood pressure among elderly patients with hypertension; however, it did not result in a significant change in diastolic blood pressure. This indicates that finger grip therapy has the potential to be used as a non-pharmacological intervention in the management of hypertension in older adults.
